   Warranty claims have really become a nightmare in our industry.  One of the reasons for this is that most roofing and exterior companies today are marketing companies that only look like construction companies on paper.  They don't employ any hands-on skilled tradespeople.  This means that when you call for a warranty issue they need to get in touch with whatever subcontractor performed the work. In many cases the subcontractor won't be available, won't be in business anymore, or everyone drags their feet in general.  They end up facing a real expense to get someone else on site to take care of the problem.  This is why most workmanship warranties range from 2-5 years, right around the time the caulking wears out.
